Scala Successfully Deploys Virtual Information Display Kiosks at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi

With over seventy-nine million (79 million) passengers that DIAL welcomes annually, their focus is to improve the traveller experience through innovative technology solutions. The expansion of Terminal 1 required a user-friendly way to disseminate information to passengers in an effective way.
Some of the critical challenges that the Virtual Information Display Kiosk helped to resolve was to streamline navigation within the new terminal, provide real-time flight information by simply scanning their boarding pass, offer personalized support through video-call assistance, and elevate the overall passenger experience by optimizing modern technology.
Scala collaborated closely with the DIAL team to implement a one-of-a-kind digital wayfinding and virtual helpdesk system through the Virtual Information Display Kiosk. This digital solution features key functionalities such as
- Real-time Flight Information: Passengers can get real-time updates by simply scanning their boarding passes and even download the airport map.
- 24×7 Live Video Support: Real-time agent support with video and audio interactions via the kiosk screens for instant assistance.
- Wayfinder with 3D maps: The 3D maps have live-location tracking and directs passengers to the quickest way to their boarding gates. It also shows retail and dining options based on passenger preferences for effortless navigation.

The implementation of Scala’s Virtual Information Display Kiosk has significantly transformed the passenger experience at Terminal 1 & 3 as it improved efficiency, elevated user experience and increased satisfaction and overall travel experience.
